We are excited to announce that Air France KLM Martinair Cargo has implemented a new Cargo Operations system. This is a significant step forward for us and will allow us to offer our customers even better service and more efficient processes.
As part of this implementation, we have separated Carrier and Handler functionality. The first step is a new Carrier system, which will be followed by a Handler system in 2024. These changes will enable us to reduce complexity and improve automated processes, providing our customers with a more effective operational service.
We understand that quality and real-time information on shipments is essential, and this new system will ensure this. With our easy-to-use 24/7 online tools, customers will have access to high-quality information in real-time while still maintaining a personal touch. Additionally, we will be reducing manual actions and increasing connectivity, making it easier for customers to manage their shipments.
What are the main consequences for customers?
• We will transition from a manual compliance process to an automated process as our first step. This change will notify the Ground Handling Agent via standard IATA messaging. Typically, orange compliance items are resolved quickly after the Handling Agent receives the message. As a result, there is no need to contact our Customer Service department immediately for such items.
• Secondly, a confirmed booking is required when delivering a shipment for acceptance of the shipment.
We understand that any changes to our processes may cause some inconveniences, and we will do our utmost to minimize any disturbances. However, incidental issues may occur, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
