Valentine's Day: Love is in the air

Whenever possible, we respond to your needs when it comes to offering tailored services at the peak of your business activity. To ensure that Valentine's Day was a success, AIR FRANCE KLM MARTINAIR Cargo adjusted its capacity out of the flower producing regions.

We worked closely with flower forwarders and shippers to transport their delicate cargo with care and on time. As the three-week period leading up to Valentine's Day is the busiest period for them, we had to make sure we could provide enough capacity to ship flowers all around the globe, for example, from Quito, Bogotá and Nairobi, all the way to Russia, the USA and, obviously, Amsterdam. Therefore, we adjusted our capacity during this period. Not only did we add main deck capacity out of Nairobi with our 747 Freighter offer with KLM and our 77Y offer with Air France, we also adapted our scheduled passenger flights to use combi aircrafts whenever possible, providing 7 maindeck pallets per flight on top of the lowerdeck offer. And we rescheduled freighters to accommodate for traffic out of the Andean region, with additional Lima and Quito stops. As Amsterdam is the European hub for flower distribution, there is a good chance that we flew the flowers you gave your Valentine!
