BOS Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo Launch All-Electric Truck

SustainabilityOct - 10, 2024
Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, long-time partners, are joining forces to drive positive change in the logistics sector. On Wednesday 9 October, Bos Logistics welcomed a brand new all-electric truck, the VOLVO FH Electric. This truck symbolises the joint efforts of both companies to reduce their ecological footprint.

The new truck, which will proudly carry the branding of both Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, marks a milestone in the partnership. The vehicle will be operational that day and play a crucial role in Bos Logistics' 'door to door' service, taking consolidated cargo from Air France KLM Martinair Cargo to the various air cargo agents. This new way of working has already led to a reduction in movements on Air France KLM Martinair Cargo's and Schiphol's premises, significantly reducing emissions. Now it is time for the next step.

The move to an all-electric truck stems from the shared ambition of both companies to further improve the environmental impact of the logistics chain. This journey began earlier with the switch from regular fuels to HVO100, a biofuel that reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90% for the trucks operating on behalf of Air France KLM Martinair Cargo.

"With the introduction of this electric truck, we reinforce our commitment to a cleaner future," said Frank Bos Jr, general manager of Bos Logistics. "This vehicle contributes to reducing our CO2 emissions and is an important step in promoting environmentally responsible logistics."

Koen Bolster Vice President Worldwide Operations AFKLMP Cargo continued: "The deployment of an all-electric truck underlines our determination to improve the logistics chain wherever possible. Together with Bos Logistics, we are today taking an important step towards more environmentally responsible logistics, further strengthening our joint position as industry leaders."

The first moment presenting the new truck was marked by a celebratory event at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo. The event, which celebrated the introduction of the electric truck, highlighted both companies' pride in their long-standing cooperation and shared sustainability goals.

Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo are committed to working together to enhance the logistics sector and achieve a greener future. With the addition of the electric truck to their fleet, both companies aim to further improve their daily operations and reduce their environmental impact.

The introduction of the electric truck marks just the start. Both Air France KLM Martinair Cargo and Bos Logistics remain dedicated to exploring innovative and eco-friendly solutions and are determined to make their logistics operations even more efficient and environmentally responsible.
